Thin type PCOS

What you’ll learn in this episode

Thin type PCOS has created a great deal of confusion for women trying to discover their PCOS root cause. So in today’s episode, I’m going to set the record straight and lay out how to go about determining your PCOS root cause when you do not have extra weight to lose. And a little tip….treating PCOS has very little to do with weight anyway. So click below to listen.

PCOS and Weight

Because medical research and doctors have kept the weight at the center of PCOS cause and management there is a lot of misunderstanding about how PCOS and weight are related.

Inflammation and insulin resistance can both be present even if we are at a healthy body weight. So when it comes to thin type PCOS, there’s not really a lot of difference in how we go about determining our PCOS root cause.

The Root Causes of Thin Type PCOS

First, don’t get hung up on one previously preconceived notion of a PCOS type. It’s about discovering, listening, and interpreting your symptoms to know what our body needs.

Your root cause is connected to your metabolic health and deep hormone health that then works its way up to the tippy top of the pyramid where your reproductive hormones, the typical PCOS-related hormones are. So when it comes to thin type PCOS, there’s really not a great deal of difference when it comes to discovering your root cause.

And don’t forget that just because you are thin, and just because your labs are normal doesn’t mean insulin is at the root of the issue. It accounts for over 70% of PCOS root causes and this statistic is ballpark the same for thin “type” PCOS.

How to Reverse Thin Type PCOS

Just as with any other PCOS “type” effectively reversing and managing PCOS starts by discovering your current primary root cause. While most people have a dominant root cause they do fluctuate in different phases of life and there are also secondary ones that become “primary” when you are managing your primary root cause.

This means the place to start is discovering your PCOS root cause. You can do this by taking the PCOS root cause quiz. Then you can focus on exactly what your body needs.

The PCOS Root Cause Quiz that I will put in the show notes below is still going to be the best place to start learning about your PCOS. A couple of notes that I want to include in this episode specifically, for people with tight PCOS though…

It makes sense that there can be several issues going on in the root hormones of PCOS, but why is it that some get away without having the weight gain?

When you have thin type PCOS, the only difference is going to be that you don’t have to watch calories and lose weight
